Each door is controlled using a PowerNet Door-Controller. This is wired to the data network using a single Cat 5 cable.
The Electric strike (or mag-lock etc), door sensor and ext button are all connected to the door-controller using a wiring loom (supplied). Optionally 3rd party devices can be wired into the Door-Controller to provide an external programmable trigger – such as motion detection from a PIR. If connected to a PoE (Power Over Ethenet) network switch, all power required to open the door can be derived over from the Cat 5 network cable.

Each Door Controller is regularly synchronised with the DoorGuard servers to ensure that access is still possible should the network or Internet connection fail. And with tamperproof hardware and all communications fully encrypted you can be confident that the system is secure.
